Got the ball rolling with 45 species on the board for 2014 this morning across a range of taxa - although mostly birds to be fair. Some species left for later until I can photograph them better. No rush for some. Met up with (newly) local birder Mick who I dragged through the willow carr in a failed attempt to grab an early Woodcock. It will come - no worries. He did spot a nice Hare haring off into cover though - first mammal tick of 2014.
Surprise starts were single Gadwall and GBB Gull (flying north) and my first wildflower record of the year - a Daisy on the path.
