Crumbly cap mushrooms

Common Stump Brittlestem, Psathyrella piluliformis

Found in mulch/wood chippings as base of a tree at NT18648757. This mulch is a profligate producer of fungi, which are often scattered in numbers over its surface. Drying to a very pale tan and producing a very dark spore print, this fungus fell apart in my hand, making it difficult to cut and examine. Psathyros basically means "crumbly". The spores are ellipsoid and measure about 5 x 3.5 microns (dry). The fact that they are quite pale and grow separately makes me wonder if they aren't Pale Brittlestem, Psathyrella candolleana.
